For all my customers who have been asking me for the links to the free crochet patterns, this is for you!
I only put them out on the social media channels as a Christmas treat, but so many people have been asking me about them I’ve added them here, so you have a permanent reference. Here they are…
Christmas Star
The crochet star is a lovely pattern. There’s no video but there is a very good written pattern and a detailed diagram. My friend who made up the pattern for the photos is a crochet novice but she managed it very well and got completely hooked! Ha ha!!!
The photo shows ribbons, string and bells added, but they look just as good with a piece of wool used to hang them, or you could jazz them up with something different! There really are no rules when the creative juices are flowing.

Do take the time to look at the other free crochet patterns on this website. In fact, take a look at the whole website, the lady who runs it is very creative and has some really beautiful patterns and crafting ideas. I got very inspired by her knitted projects, and she even has some lip-smacking recipes on there too. If you are on Ravelry do follow the link to her page where all the woolly stuff is gathered together.
Christmas Snowflake
The snowflake is quick and easy to make too, and a cost saving idea for your tree decorations. Use up all the leftover wool that’s not enough for a big project!

Videos
Although the Christmas star pattern does not have a video I found a very similar one on YouTube and have added it along with the snowflake to the video tutorial page.

Have fun creating these cute Christmas decorations! … and remember there are lots of creative ways to decorate on a budget. Paper chains, pop-corn on a string, evergreen sprigs from the garden, cotton wool snowmen, pine cones… ahhhh it makes me nostalgic for my childhood when the whole family made things together, while the radio played listen with mother. I’m showing my age now!
Happy crocheting folks!
